Norah got her ears pierced

In our family, getting your ears pierced is a rite of passage earned at 5 years old (or a few days before). Norah went under the knife as it were and bravely got her ears pierced. She was very nervous, but she did it and didnt even cry.

She looks so big now. I can’t handle it.

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Your 2nd birthday started out small. We thought we’d just do something small with the family…but then we decided to go up to Baltimore to see Tia and Uncle Jeremiah. Then we decided that for your birthday it would be fun to go to the aquarium — and that was really fun.

Tia made breakfast for us (Cinnamon rolls) and you got to have a delicious breakfast and open your presents. You had a very fun and full day in Baltimore for your birthday.

If that wasn’t enough, we also had a party for you about a week later at Kids Cove. You had a terrific time there as well. Your fall birthday did not go unnoticed this year.

You were very excited to get your cinnamon roll birthday breakfast.

You also tried some blueberry yogurt that you really enjoyed 😉

certainly a happy birthday.

So much personality

I can’t believe how much personality you have at such a young age.

You’re only 18 months now, but you are so expressive and thoughtful.

This afternoon, you and your sister were watching a show in the living room, sitting in our wingback chairs. You got down to bring something to us, and I said, do you want me to help you get back in your chair, to which you nodded your head and turned to walk away. I followed you to the chair and when you got there you put your finger down on the seat and looked up at me. It was precisely clear what you wanted help with.

Tonight when I was putting you to bed, after we finished reading your books, you said “Ah Bush you”…which at first I didn’t understand, but then realized you were saying “I bless you”, which is the song we sing every night before you go to sleep. As I began to sing it you sang along to I bless you …. and hummed along on the parts you couldn’t say. After we finished singing our song, you were playing with me by trying to lick my face, which is an incredibly adorable gesture from such a tiny little child. I might see you as younger than you really are, but you continue to impress me with just how much personality you have, just how much you try and how much you say.

I love you!

Every time mommy leaves your room when she puts you down for nap time or night night, she always says that she loves you. Today when mommy put you down and was leaving the room, she said, “love you!” and then you said it back! For the first time ever! It was so sweet!

Climbing the Stairs

While mommy and daddy weren’t looking, you started climbing up the stairs, so after collecting ourselves, we took the moment to take some pictures of the occasion.

For some reason, going up the stairs for babies is always so fun…and I have to admit, it’s really fun watching you enjoy it so much. So now, every night we go up the stairs together, all four of us.

Nothing special here, just a really cute kid.

Kisses and standing alone

In the last two days you have been doing so many new things. You have started to stand on your own for a few seconds after you pull up without holding on to anything. You can hold a sippy cup and put it up to your mouth. And you have started to give me kisses. I will say, “give mommy kisses” and you lean in with you mouth wide open ;). It is adorable!

We are enjoying you so much! Love you!

Bathtime with Hannah

You’ve been doing really well with sitting up, so we moved you to your sit-up bath. Now you and Hannah can take baths together. It’s really a special time because both of you enjoy the water. Here are a few pictures from that:
